EMBROIDERY MACHINE OPERATOR

LOCATIONS: Columbia, South Carolina

POSITION SUMMARY:
Sun Solutions is seeking an experienced Embroidery Machine Operator responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a six head Tajima embroidery machine to produce embroidered designs on fabrics and garments. This includes reading design specifications, loading appropriate threads and fabrics, adjusting machine settings, and troubleshooting any mechanical or design issues. Attention to detail and knowledge of different fabrics and thread types are crucial for producing high-quality embroidery.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Setting up and operating the Tajima machine: This involves reading design files (DST, EMB), selecting appropriate needles, threads, and backing, hooping garments, and aligning designs.
  • Monitoring production: Operators observe the machine during operation, ensuring designs are embroidered correctly and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  • Maintaining the machine: This includes tasks like threading, oiling, cleaning, and performing basic maintenance to keep the machine running smoothly.
  • Quality control: Operators inspect finished products, trim threads, and ensure all embroidery meets quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving any mechanical or design-related issues that occur during the embroidery process.
  • Record keeping: Maintaining accurate records of jobs completed and reporting any production issues or delays.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace: Ensuring the embroidery area is tidy and safe. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Tajima embroidery machines: This is a key requirement for the job.
  • Knowledge of different fabrics and threads: Understanding how different materials behave and interact with the machine and thread is essential.
  • Attention to detail: Accurate placement of designs and meticulous quality control are crucial for producing high-quality embroidery.
  • Ability to troubleshoot: Operators need to be able to identify and resolve issues with the machine or design.
  • Strong work ethic: This role often involves working in a fast-paced environment and meeting production deadlines.
  • Good communication skills: Operators may need to communicate with supervisors or other team members to ensure smooth production.
